Drying/preserving flowers?

You will get the best results if you start the process before the flowers start drying out on their own, but it is possible to get good results after also. There is a product called Flower Drying Crystals made by Absorbent Industries and available through their web site www.SilicaGelPackets.com that is great for drying flowers. The short version is you cover the flowers with the Silica Gel beads in an airtight container and let them sit. The more moisture in the flowers, the longer it will take, but it is faster and yields better results than simply hanging them to air dry. The best part is, they are reusable, so if you get them for these flowers, you can simply heat them up to reactivate them and use them again the next time you get flowers!
