Should we wait on the UN to help the Libyan people or should we do something?

The United States and its allies ARE doing something about Libya...if you go to whitehouse.gov you will discover that UN Secretary Ban Kin-moon is being hosted at the White House in order to formulate strategies that will keep the situation from getting worse. Gadhafi has been asked to step down, and I'm relatively certain (without being privy to behind-the-scenes goings-on) that our own CIA and other foreign agents are on the ground in Libya as we speak. To avert war, member nations of the UN have to unite in the strategies, with the U.S. as recognized leader, but filtered through the UN so as not to endanger our troops in Afghanistan or the noncombat contingency of 50,000 American troops still in Iraq.
