Creative, dressy costume ideas to a sadie hawkins dance?

I've been invited to a sadie hawkins dance but I don't want to look like a hillbilly... again! The sadie hawkins theme has been over done and I was hoping I could dress up to this dance until I found out the theme. Do any of you have any creative, some what dressy ideas for the dance beside short shorts and plaid shirts? Thank you
