In the series V, episode 3, how did Erica know the code to get into the room with all the video screens?

Right before the half hour break, after Erica captured the shooter and the V took him into custody, Erica tried twice to enter an access code into a little red panel. She got the code on like, the second try. Did I miss the part where she learned the code, or learned to "speak/read" V?
