What do you think of this ??

I think it sounds really great. One change you could possibly make is switching the "professing" in your very last sentence to another word? Maybe like avowing or affirming? but then that might confuse the idea of your essay. I thought it might sound a little funny with the two words kind of close together. All in all, very elegant sounding.
