I dunno what to do my bf was diagnosed with IED and he has to take anti depressants?

Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is a disorder characterized by impulsive acts of aggression. He has never hit or hurt me he's only been a hurtful with words when he's mad at me. Sometimes I get a little scared to the point of tears when he gets mad. I don't want to leave him because I care about him plus I don't think its right to leave him now cuz he'll need support more than ever before. What would you do in my situation? Do any of you out there suffer fom IED or involved with some one who does? And are you in lasting, healthy relationships?
